Forming Process Of Precipitation-hardening Stainless Steel Investment Casting
The molding process of precipitation hardening stainless steel investment castings first involves the production of precise wax molds. Professional technicians select high-quality wax materials and make wax molds that accurately match the shape of the final casting through fine mold design and manufacturing. The key to this step is the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the wax mold, which directly affect the quality of subsequent castings.
After the wax mold is made, it needs to be dipped in slurry and sanded. Soak the wax mold in a special refractory slurry, then evenly hang a layer of refractory sand, and repeat this process after it dries to form a shell of a certain thickness. This shell must not only have good high temperature resistance, but also ensure that it can maintain its shape completely during the subsequent dewaxing process.
The dewaxing process is a crucial step. The wax mold is melted and removed by high-temperature steam and other methods to obtain a hollow shell. After that, the shell is placed in a sintering furnace for high-temperature sintering to further improve the strength and density of the shell, while removing impurities generated during the sintering process.
Finally, the melted precipitation-hardened stainless steel liquid is poured into the sintered shell. During the pouring process, the pouring temperature, speed, and pouring volume must be strictly controlled to ensure that the metal liquid can evenly fill the shell to form a complete and dense casting. After the pouring is completed, after cooling, shelling, cleaning and other processes, and then after appropriate heat treatment, a precipitation-hardened stainless steel investment casting with excellent performance is finally obtained.
